WHY DID WE START THIS NETWORK

Eastern Suburbs Life has been publishing local community news for over 6 years and has seen at close hand how Covid has impacted Eastern Suburbs' businesses.

We have created this group to help people in business work with each other to cope with Covid and the aftermath that will follow when it subsides. It is designed to help members get to know each other, share information and work together in mutually beneficial ways.

In his book Blueprint, Nicholas Christakis explains that our very survival as early hunter-gatherers required that we help each other, and that doing so even makes us feel good - 3.51 Min Video

HOW IT WORKS

The Eastern Suburbs Business Network is a private online network specifically for members of businesses that trade in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. It helps members share news with each other and work together, in complete privacy. Members can also publish news directly to the public, online, in hard copy and in social media. Training, support and membership discounts are provided.  The image below shows how members share information with each other.

BE PART OF A WORLDWIDE COMMUNITY

Your Private Eastern Suburbs Business Network is part of the larger Eastern Suburbs network with over 20 other Public groups. You can join as many of these as you wish, free of charge, to share other information publicly to readers throughout the whole of the Eastern Suburbs.

As a member, you also become part of the worldwide Mighty Networks group which has over 10,000 customers, some with networks of over 200,000 members.

Founder Gina Bianchini says "Mighty Networks believes that a thriving community shouldn't be restricted to just a one-sided conversation. Instead, members should be able to partake in a dialogue and add value to the ecosystem as a whole. Content may be why someone comes to a website, but content alone will kill the creator economy. So it makes more sense
to build a community that gets more valuable to every member with each new person who joins."  To read more click here - 9 minute read

WHY START WORKING TOGETHER NOW

It's tempting to believe that once Omicron is "defeated" we can start getting back to normal. However, in the video below, Nicholas Christakis explains that pandemics are like a Tsunami that floods the whole world and then eventually recedes leaving behind long term education, finance, psychological, infrastructure, emotional and supply chain problems. Having access to supportive members in this group will make solving these problems easier.

In the video below Nicholas Christakis outlines what to expect in the next few years of recovery. 25 Minute Video
